This Privacy & Cookie Policy sets out how we use and process all personal data that is provided to us including through our website www.wekandu.io and any associated mobile application (the Site).

We reserve the right to update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time at our discretion. If we do so, the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. You are responsible for regularly reviewing this Privacy & Cookie Policy so that you are aware of any changes to it. 2. Security

We take appropriate security measures (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to help safeguard your personal data from unauthorised access and disclosure. The technology that we use and the security policies which we have implemented are intended to safeguard your information from unauthorised access and improper use. However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise that your personal data or other content that you upload to the Site will always remain secure. Should a security breach occur we will endeavour to act as fast as commercially possible to remedy the problem.

All precautions have been taken on our databases to archive your personal data in a secure environment. Only a small number of our employees have access to your personal data, which is only accessible in case of necessity.

3. Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal data that we hold for you or you can request to have it modified, deleted or to forbid any further use by us of it. You can also ask us to ensure that any authorised sub-contractor who has access to your personal data shall delete it. You can choose to no longer receive marketing emails from us by contacting us at hello@wekandu.io or clicking unsubscribe from a marketing email. We shall therefore retain your personal data in our records for marketing purposes until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from us.

4. When and why do we gather information about you?

If you access the Site through your LinkedIn account, you agree that we will receive certain personal data from your LinkedIn account. Otherwise, you will be are asked to supply information about yourself when you register with the Site. You will also provide personal data to us when you participate in a chat or respond to a survey. Certain items of information are mandatory in order to gain access to the Site.

We use your personal data to manage your account in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of use of the Site, including sharing your personal data with other users that you match, to prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, to customise, measure and improve our services, content and advertising and an anonymous basis, for research purposes and for our general business purposes.

We may retain your contact details in accordance with this Privacy & Cookie Policy if you input your contact details on our Site even if you do not complete your registration.

5. What sort of information do we gather?

Personal data gathered by us can include your name, mailing and/or email address attached to your LinkedIn account, photographs, personal values, and your use of the Site.

Furthermore, certain non-personal information is also gathered, such as the version of your and any other visitor's web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.), the operating system (Windows OS, Mac Os, etc.), the IP address of the computer from which they are visiting or location is a postcode is given, technical information about your device such as type of device, web browser or operating system your preferences and settings such as time zone and language and how long you used the Site and which services and features you used.

We also allow advertisers and advertising networks to collect information about your computer or mobile device, activities, and geographic location to enable them to display targeted ads to you.

6. Who has access to your information?

If you are awarded a Kandu Badge, and if you expressly agree, we will share a small card containing your personal data on our social networks to promote you. This card will show a photo of you, your first name, job title, and what you can offer or give. If anyone who views the card on the social network then clicks on the card they will be invited to sign up to the Kandu to see if they match you.

Otherwise, we do not share personal data with third parties, except (a) with other registered users if you match on the Site; (b) to respond to legal requirements (including under the Data Protection Act 1998 as amended) or protect a third party’s rights, property, or safety; (c) to any service providers, sub-contractors and agents that we may appoint to perform functions on our behalf only in accordance with our instructions and all applicable laws; and (d) in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company only in accordance with our instructions and all applicable law.

Some or all of your personal data may be stored or transferred outside of the European Economic Area (the EEA) for any reason, including for example, if our email server is located in a country outside the EEA or if any of our service providers are based outside of the EEA. You are deemed to accept and agree to this by using the system and submitting information to us.
